Title: “Treating the Lumbar Spine: a Mixed Modal Approach"

Bio:

Dr. Richard Ulm is a practicing chiropractic physician in Columbus, Ohio where he treats the full spectrum of patients from complex cases trying to avoid surgery to Olympic athletes. A former national level track athlete and strength coach himself, he combines these experiences with his medical training to provide functional, patient-specific treatments for everyone who walks in his door. He is the owner of Columbus Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Center, which he founded in 2011.

To get the best results and to be able to help highly complex cases, Dr. Ulm uses a mixed modal approach to treatment. He is one of only 200 Chiropractic Physicians in the world certified in the McKenzie Method (MDT-Cert). He teaches for the Motion Palpation Institute (MPI) and is an international instructor of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) for the Prague School of Rehabilitation. His treatments heavily emphasize manual techniques such as joint manipulation/mobilization and soft tissue work. As a former strength coach and elite athlete, every treatment plan also involves functional rehabilitation to ensure that the patient will be able to “perform” at their highest possible level.

He is fortunate enough to teach rehab and strength training all over the world. To this end, in 2013 he started Athlete Enhancement® an eduction platform for coaches and medical professionals hoping to improve their ability maximize their athletes' performances.
